Termite Control Near Me

Termites?

If  I told you, I could get rid of your termites for good would you be interested? If I said, I guarantee, we'll get rid of the termites around your home, or I'll retreat the entire home for free, would you be interested? At Custom Pest Control in Boaz, Alabama, we stand behind our work and contracts! I've seen it time and time again. A customer calls the office looking for a termite inspection for their home, and when I arrive at their property, the damage has already been done. I'm speaking about older homes and brand new homes only a year old that have substantial termite damage and expenses now into the $10,000.00 range and higher.

Termite Damage?

Would you believe me if I told you that all those damage expenses caused by termites could have been prevented? So, how much do you know about termites? A little bit maybe? Quite a bit or maybe nothing at all? Well, termites can eat 1 lb of wood each week, and they can travel 150 feet per day. In the state of Alabama, because of our agriculture, it's a known fact there are 4-6 termite colonies per acre of land. So, to spell it out for you, it's never a question of whether you have termites or not, because you do! The question you have to ask and find out through a proper inspection is, have the termites found your home yet?

Poor Inspections?

When considering having a termite inspection on your home, most companies will offer you a free inspection. The problem with termite inspectors, most of them know very little about termites, to begin with, and they could care less about finding out if you really have a termite problem or not. Most termite inspectors are just glorified salesmen looking for another dollar to add to their bank account. Most companies won't even give you a proper inspection. I know this as a fact because I was called out to perform a termite inspection this past year for a family here in town. What she didn't tell was that she had already called two other companies out to inspect her home. http://YourPestControl.com. I crawled under her home checking every pier, every floor joist, along the foundation wall, and on the seal plate for evidence of termites. As I was starting to think the woman's home was clear of visible termite activity, I saw a white bug crawl out from under the moisture barrier in the crawl space. I carefully pulled back the plastic to reveal a massive amount of active and very alive termites. Upon further inspection into the farthest back area of the crawl space, I found what is known as a termite castle literally coming up out of the ground in the crawl space of the home.

When I came out of the crawl space, I told the owner of the home that I did indeed find termites and a bunch of them. She looked back at me with a puzzled look on her face, and then she asked me, "Sir, how is it that I've had three different local pest control companies come out to inspect my home, and none of them found termites but you?" I'm sure my response could have come across as me being a smart butt, but I asked her a question. "Ma'am, if you've already had two other companies tell you that you didn't have a termite problem, why did you call me?"

Her answer shocked me but gave me a sense of pride and happiness. I always try my best to give each customer the best inspection possible, and it showed that day. She said, "Nate, I have friends and family that told me to call Custom Pest Control and ask for you specifically." She went on to tell me the names of her family members and friends who referred her to me, and I remembered them. I found termites eating on their homes. They hired us to treat their homes for termites. She told me that her family members had also called the three large pest control companies in the area. One of those inspectors gave them a termite treatment cost, and never even crawled the house. The other inspector crawled under the home, and after 10 minutes came back out and gave them the all-clear. Then, I arrived and actually found the termites, and showed the customers pictures I had taken of the crawling termites under their homes.

Treatment Methods?

Not all treatment methods are the same, and that's a cold hard truth! You can choose to pay $600.00 every 2 or 3 years for a new treatment using generic products, you can have bait stations installed or you can have a professional treatment that only needs to be completed once every 10-20 years. If you know that you have termites, eating at the buffet called your home, why would they leave the buffet to eat the appetizer in the yard known as a bait? Exactly! Not gonna happen!

Why pay $600.00 for a termite treatment that's only going to last for a few years? The termites will return! For only a little more, you can have a 100% fully legal and legitimate termite treatment performed on your home and receive a termite bond.

Here at Custom Pest Control of Boaz, Alabama, we don't offer subpar termite treatments like other companies offer. We offer only the best treatment available on the market, and we stand behind our work. We'll come back every single year and perform a full inspection of your home. If we ever find signs of active termites again, we'll retreat your home at our expense. You never pay another penny for another treatment.

How to Get Rid of Fleas?

Fleas are parasitic insects that pose significant challenges to households, especially those with pets. As bloodsucking pests, they thrive in warm and humid environments, such as Alabama, making them a common nuisance for residents. Understanding the life cycle of fleas is crucial for effective control and prevention. Fleas undergo four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. Female fleas can lay between four to eight eggs after each meal, leading to rapid population growth (Flea Life Cycle & Life Stages, 2023) . The entire life cycle can span from a few weeks to several months depending on environmental conditions. The first stage begins with microscopic eggs that hatch into larvae within one to twelve days. These larvae are often found in carpets and other shaded areas where they feed on organic debris. After living as larvae for about four to eighteen days, they enter the pupal stage—a dormant period that can last from several days up to a year. Finally, adult fleas e...

Custom Pest Control // Extermination Companies // How to Kill Bugs at home - [Pest Control Companies in Alabama] (2021)

When you've done all you can to get bugs out of your home and away from your property, you may consider hiring a professional pest control company. I personally know the pain of trying to have an outside cookout with friends and family, only to have our party disrupted by ants and flies. It's such a pain trying to keep everything covered to prevent contamination by insects. My parents always told me when I was growing up, "Oh son, that fly won't eat much." While that may have been true, it still didn't deny the fact that flies spit up when they land on a surface. Who wants to eat fly spit, especially after it just finished feasting on the rotting flesh of a dead possum that became roadkill the other day? I personally witnessed a fly dropping baby maggots into a food dish at a picnic once recently, and that completely changed my view on eating outside at a picnic. Sorry folks, but I probably won't be eating at the next family reunion or outside church din...

Are Ants a Sign of Something Worse? (How to Get Rid of Termites)

Are Ants a Sign of Something Worse?  Are ants a sign of something worse going on under your home and on your property? Have you noticed a trail of ants in your home or outside? You could have Fire Ants ( Sol enopsis ), Sugar Ants ( Componotus Consobrinus ), or even Carpenter Ants ( Componotus ), which are all common in our area. Not only are these insects pesky, but can carry a stinging bite and even worse complications for those who may be allergic. When it comes to Wood-eating ants, they play a major role in our ecosystem. They eat old, dead and rotting wood and allows for composting to begin, eventually allowing for new life to begin. Ants also eat other insects, which helps to remove dead ad possibly smelly carcasses from lying around. I'm sure you've noticed a dead insect covered by ants at some point in your life. Carpenter Ants ( Camponotus ) for one can cause major damage to your home and other structures such as sheds and dog houses you may have on your property. M...
